Seemingly endless and perfectly groomed slopes, skiing fun from October til early summer. Ski huts and restaurants for a break. All this and more in Zell am See-Kaprun, Kitzsteinhorn and Schmittenhöhe ski areas. Freeriders love the five well marked freeride routes at Kitzsteinhorn. And park rats head to the Snowpark Kitzsteinhorn.

The most beautiful ski tours

Kaprun is also the perfect holiday destination for ski tourers. If you prefer exploring the slopes on skiis rather than taking the lift, you'll find stunning and pure skiing fun at your feet. These are the ski tours you simply must discover:

  • Ronachkopf: THE mountain for ski tourers offers a 2,5 km long, groomed ascent track and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain landscape.
  • Snow Queen & Icebreaker: two tours - endless skiing fun. Anyone already thinking about a ski tour in October is in luck: both routes are located in the Kitzsteinhorn glacier ski area and are accessible from October.
  • Guided ski tour to the Tristkogel: ideal for those who want to discover something new and have an experienced guide by their side. Once a week a state-certified mountain guide will accompany you on this classic ski tour.

Winter fun off-piste

Cross-country and snowshoeing are part of your standard winter holiday program? Great, because in Zell am See-Kaprun you have endless opportunities for both. The best part is: many of these activities are located very close to the Pfefferbauer and can be reached in no time. Numerous winter hiking trails await you around Lake Zell, for example. Those who want to feel weightless as they glide accross the snow can opt for a snowshoe hike. And cross-country skiers will enjoy the 107 kilometres of tracks in the region. Tip for beginners: the Schlossloipe in Kaprun.
